Practical uses of citronella

"A potent natural insect repellent, citronella has been used in commercial products since the 19th century. You can reap its benefits in candle and oil form."

Going on Vacation?

Use citronella oil to make your own natural mosquito- repelling spray or lotion. Here's a few quick ways on how-to:
  • Add 5 drops to your lotion or body spray. It will mix well because they are alcohol based. Water doesn't mix well with essential oils.
  • Add a few drops to your bath.
  • Boost insect-repellent properties by blending with geranium, eucalyptus and/or lavender oils.
*Warning: Some citrus scents can make your skin more sensitive to sunburn. Citronella is safe and will not cause sensitivity to burns, but is best to not use any if planning to sunbathe.
